| What time is packet pickup
and race-day registration?
Packet pickup and registration open at 6:30am on Saturday.
How spaced apart are the water stations?
Water stops are planned near mile 3, mile 6, mile 7.5, mile 9 and mile
11.5.
Will there be water and Gatorade?
Water stops will be stocked with both water and half strength Gatorade.
Where do we pick up the race packets? At the school or at the
camp?
Packet picked will be at the start of whichever race you are running.
Half-Marathon packets should be picked up at the Lake George Elementary
School (NOT THE LAKE GEORGE HIGH SCHOOL!):
69 Sun Valley Dr
Lake George, NY 12845
Packets for the 10k will be at Camp Chingachgook:
1872 Pilot Knob Road
Kattskill Bay, NY 12844
Is it possible to switch from the half marathon to the 10k?
While we cannot offer any refunds for the price difference between the
two races, you can switch from the Half-Marathon to the 10k. However,
you MUST inform us of the change before the start. Runners competing in
the wrong event risk being excluded from both results.
Where should I park?
10k runners should park at Camp Chingachgook.
Half-Marathon runners can park at either the Camp or at the Elementary
School.
Free shuttle buses will be provided between the Half-Marathon start and
the finish, both before and after the race.
Can friends and family ride the shuttle buses?
If there is room on the buses, friends and family are welcome to ride
along. However, our first priority is getting the runners to the start
in plenty of time.
Can I send a bag of dry clothes to the finish line?
Yes, we are offering a free bag drop service for Half-Marathon runners.
Make sure to pack some dry clothes, a towel, and your swim suit (for a
post race dip in the lake!)
Are showers available after the race?
Yes, runners will be able to use the Camp’s bath-houses.
Will my family be able to eat at the post race cookout?
Camp Chingachgook is graciously providing the food after the race, and
there should be plenty to go around. However, I’m sure that they
won’t turn away any donations for the food (but this is not a requirement).
I registered after July 10th, is there any chance of getting
a race shirt?
I was in a very good mood when I ordered the race shirts, and ordered
lots of extras. So, it’s very likely that you’ll still be
able to get a shirt.
This is my first Half-Marathon. Will I get a finisher medal?
The finisher “bling” is a closely held secret at this point,
known only to me! But, rest assured, when you finish the race you will
receive an award. (And personally, I think they’re pretty cool!)
I was wondering if the roads will be closed for the ½
marathon?
You will be running on open roads. So you will need to pay attention to,
and look out for, traffic.
But there is only one road crossing that should be an issue, and this
is very close to the start of the race, and we will have a course marshal
helping out.
Is the course difficult?
This is the first year for this race, so I’ll need to ask you after
the race.
I have not run the course, but I have driven it several times and rode
it on my bike once. I consider it a challenging course, that rolls its
entire length. But I would say there are any “killer hills”
for you to deal with.
Can my friend register the morning of the race?
Absolutely! To register the morning of the race, they should go to the
starting line of the race they wish to run.
Will there be lifeguards on duty for swimming after the race?
Yes, The camp plans on providing licensed lifeguards at the beach.
Will somebody be available to watch my children during the race?
Yes, day-care and baby sitting will be provided to the children of runners
for the duration of the race. Please let us know if you plan on using
this service so that we can staff appropriately.
How can I get dry clothes to the finish area?
Bags will be provided at the start area to be used as drop-off bags for
runners. These will be loaded onto the buses and be waiting for you at
the end of the race. You will need to show your bib to retrieve you drop-off
bag.
How will the race be timed?
Both races will be chip timed by ARE
Event Productions using IPICO Sports shoe tags. They must be returned
at the finish.
